The Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Trauma (NKT Traume) was established 1 May 2013. The mission is to ensure equal high quality of the treatment of seriously injured throughout the whole country regardless of age, sex, and homeplace.
NKT Traume work with the whole chain of emergency care for seriously injured trauma patients – from the accident scene, first aid, emergency services and advanced prehospital emergency care, local hospitals, trauma centers, rehabilitation, and to the following up of the patient’s experiences.
ATLS is an advanced training program for medical providers in the management of acute trauma cases. NKT-Traume is responsible for arranging these courses in Norway. Read more!
The Advisory Unit is localized at the Trauma Centre at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål, but also consists of a network of regional Trauma Coordinators and assists Norway from north to south, and from west to east.
